Cocktails In Comfort
Sipping a sophisticated cocktail whilst relaxing in your favourite bar is the perfect indulgent pick me up. Unfortunately, we are having to make use of our home bars which are often a couple bottles of last year’s Christmas presents. We want to give you some simple cocktail ideas and recipes with only a couple of ingredients you can make from home.
A Bellini is possibly the simplest cocktail recipe out there. Only using two ingredients Peach Puree & Prosecco. Spoon the peach puree in a Champagne flute up to about 1/3 full and top with Prosecco. If you can’t find peach puree you can make your own at home easily. Simply boil several peaches for 40-60 seconds, place them in a bowl of ice water. Remove peaches from the water and peel the skin and then blend. This will keep in the fridge for a couple days.
Dark & Stormy
A Dark & Stormy is one of the only cocktail recipes that is trademarked. It can’t officially be called a Dark & Stormy without Gosling Brothers Rum. To make yours Combine 56ml Gosling Brothers rum with 85ml of Ginger Beer and 14ml of Lime Juice. If you can’t get your hands-on Goslings Brothers rum, you can use your favourite choice of rum. You’ll just have to come up with your own new cocktail name.
An Old Fashioned is as the name suggests is an all-time classic cocktail and it can be made with many different spirits to suit your taste. Rum, Whiskey, Bourbon or even brandy. Pour 45ml of your chosen spirit into your glass add a teaspoon of sugar and a splash of water and stir until combined. Add your ice and a couple dashes of bitters and enjoy.
