History of the Hall - Originally known as Middleton House, Eden Hall was completed in 1875 and was built for Robert Middleton Esquire, a student under Reverend Henry Leonard Adams, Minister of the Newark Congregational Church.

The finished property contained a large Chapel, which occupied almost the whole central portion of the building, featuring a sizeable pulpit and organ with gilt pipes. The two galleries on the ground floor, used primarily for baptisms, could hold over 200 people, and showcased superior furniture from the late Emperor Napoleon III.

Sadly, during World War II, the conservatory at Middleton House was destroyed, following the accidental release of a bomb from a Lancaster bomber as it started it's operational mission.
