Tell us about your career journey with Hoar Cross Hall, from where you started to where you are now?
I had always loved Hoar Cross Hall and was determined to work here. I first came to the Hall after an amazing opportunity to represent my college for work experience as a Beauty Therapist arose. Following on from this, I started my employment as a Beauty Therapist at the Hall In 2008.
During my career, I have had several opportunities to progress through the department, from a Senior Therapist to Assistant Therapy Manager, then Therapy Manager, to where I am now as Spa Operations Manager.
Hoar Cross Hall provides plenty of opportunities to gain a wealth of training in all product houses, as well as spa business, and working within a fantastic team. This has allowed me to progress my career way beyond hands-on therapy.
What’s your favourite thing about working for Hoar Cross Hall?
I am lucky enough to work alongside supportive management and a fantastic team who really care, not only about each other, but about the guests who come to the Hall. The best parts of my day are being out in the spa with the team, engaging with the guests on check-in, and having a positive impact on the spa's day-to-day operations.
Every day is different, exciting and challenging and we are continuously moving forward to be the best at Hoar Cross Hall.

I spend my day ensuring our guests' day or stay schedule is prepared, perfect, and ready for their arrival. I started my role as a therapist performing hands on treatments. Freshly out of college excited to start in the spa industry. Putting my knowledge to the test. My role at the spa has enabled me to develop my interpersonal skills even further. I have established relationships with both employees and guests which has led to make specific requests for me as their therapist. Consequently, I became a senior therapist in April 2021. I have since expanded my organisation skills further. My role as a senior therapist required me to book in treatments efficiently helping guests. Ensuring the department is running smoothly. While being a role model for the girls to look up to. Furthermore, I have been promoted to be maternity cover for therapy supervisor. Enabling me to have more responsibility within therapy. As a team we are a support blanket for the therapists. The door is always open for advice. A few of my responsibilities now include wage management, recruitment, holidays, In house training and KPI's. Also, assisting my line manager with day-to-day tasks.

I started at Eden Hall as a newly qualified Therapist in 2005. I achieved my product house training and loved doing hands-on treatments in an award-winning spa. I then successfully applied for the role of Team Leader. My role as a Team Leader enabled me to use my knowledge with the product brands to help and support other therapist achieve sales goals and give advice. After a year as Team Leader, I became a Senior therapist, I would open and close the department while ensuring smooth running throughout the day, help guests book treatments, and support therapists. While I was a Senior Therapist, I became an in-house trainer for Jessica and lava shell treatments. Delivering new treatments to therapists is very rewarding as you can see them grow. My role today is Therapy supervisor and is a great mixture of work. I still train and do hands-on treatments along with several office tasks including setting KPI’s and recruitment.

I have been a therapist for around 25 years, but in the time I have worked at Eden Hall, I have learned more here than in all the 25 years I have been a therapist. This is down to all the amazing training I have received. It has made me a much better therapist than I ever thought I could possibly be. My knowledge of treatments as well as products has increased so I am now able to give help and advice to all our guests regarding skincare.
I now work in the Spa shop here at Eden Hall and absolutely love to help and advise clients about skincare as well as performing many more roles; like helping other staff members with increasing their sales and providing product training with various brands.
